Radical Faeries

In 1979, Harry Hay, along with his lover John Burnside, held the Spiritual Conference for Radical Faeries. Early Members of the movement were influenced by Arthur Evans’ Witchcraft and the Gay Counterculture (1978).  The Radical Faeries are still in existence today, identifying (in the most general sense of the word) as “gay men who look for a spiritual dimension to our sexuality; many of us are healers of one kind or another. Our shared values include feminism, respect for the Earth, and individual responsibility rather than hierarchy. Many of us are Pagan.” (Find out about gatherings, sanctuaries, and more on their website)
